What is Birdy?
Birdy is Colorado’s independent, artist-run print and online magazine that explores and documents the art and culture of our current time. A cultural pillar of Colorado’s arts community and beyond since 2014, Birdy serves as a vehicle for free creative expression and the exchange of ideas and information, while championing compassionate business and community collaboration. Featuring local, national and international artists, writers, comedians and musicians, Birdy is a home for all, from the renowned creator to the first timer. We stand by our manifesto — print is undead — by creating a truly aesthetic, collectible and evergreen monthly magazine free to the public, with 136 issues and counting. Our digital issue, online content and weekly radio show offer further access to our national and global communities, as well as our physical issues deliverable worldwide. Birdy believes access to art and information is a fundamental human right and a critical tool in sustaining healthy communities and opportunities for all. Further, print is a crucial vehicle for amplifying inclusive and diverse thoughts, ideas, voices and creativity in our shared communities. That’s why we distribute Birdy in the communities we represent: creative, innovative and curious.
